And if you want to be grown-up, the STI now has the option to remove the wing.

On some trims of the STi, I thought the wing was always optional.

I’m fine it looking like a Corolla, sleeper status engage! But seriously now Subaru, bring the damn hatchback, er, back.

And in typical Subaru fashion, the new wheels aren’t really new. Just a darker shade of paint and a new center cap.

Haha, funny you should mention it, I was just thinking about what version of the WRX/STI had those style rims and if they were exactly the same; and her we are lol.

What’s also interesting is that the WRX can now use the old STI wheels. I didn’t realize before that the 2015 WRX started using the same 5 X 114.3 bolt pattern that the STI has been using since 2005. The previous generations were always 5 X 100, and the wheels found on 2005+ STIs would not fit.

Well for this generation at least, the wing was always standard until now.

In Canada, the base WRX STi does not have the wing.

“Better infotainment”

I don’t give a shit. How about a hatchback instead?

Oh, I understand now. In the US the STi regardless of trim came with a wing, I see you have better STi trims in Canada.

I do not knock the WRX for being a bad car in any way, for most people who have driven it describe it as great dynamically. However, the styling is detrimental to it. Even the new wheels look beyond generic. New infotainment is great and all but part of the WRX experience is how brash it looks. It used to have scoops and hilariously wide flares off the wheels. The look is simply so neutered and I can’t get past that.

Right, WRXs were 5x100 and STIs were 5x114.3. I only know this because I had an SRT-4 and the main wheels that I could find for it that were decent and had good sizing were designed for the WRX.
